Fashion week

This past week was fashion week in Paris. Unfortunately, Jen and I missed all the shows. Since Parisians are so fashionable though, we figured it would be almost as good to visit a park on Sunday. After the morning showers, the sun came out and so did the Parisians. The temperature got up to 50F and it was a perfect afternoon to go to the park. While there are bigger parks in Paris like Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes and the classic parks like Tuileries and Jardin du Luxembourg, most Parisians consider Parc Monceau to be the prettiest.

It's located north of the Champs Elysee by a half mile in a plush residential neighborhood on the edge of the 8th arrondisement. Since there really aren't too many other sites around it, it doesn't get too many tourists. Given that there were thousands of people there today and I was the only one taking photos, I assumed that we were in the minority. You never know who or what you'll see in the parks so we took our camera. As the weather was warming up, we thought we might catch some of the early spring season fashion.

So for you fashionistas out there, here is what we've been able to gather:

Silver puffy jackets with hoodies are in..

As are his and her polo shirts (no need to match)...

Red capes are making a comeback...

But so is the sans clothing looks...

Men's athletic wear with vertical stripes is the new black...

Red pants remain a classic...

But full body suits are new this year for les enfants...

And letting the hair go is a sign of the economic times...
